How to Sign Up:

Inspector Update is a free tool. Our site is build on technology of other free web services. To sign up and receive updates, follow 3 simple steps:

Step 1: Sign up to Twitter

Sign up to the Twitter. It is a free service that lets you send short messages and receive free updates on your mobile phone.
Select a username and password, then ensure you register your mobile phone.

Step 2: Subscribe to our Twitter Updates

After you have signed up to Twitter, subscribe to our updates. To do this, visit our twitter page here: http://twitter.com/inspectorupdate
Click 'follow' to subscribe. (You will see the follow button when you are logged in, it is just under the logo). To recieve the free text message updates, ensure you phone is registered with twitter and you have selected to revive mobile updates.


Step 3: Alert Other Users

You are now fully subscribed to Inspector Update. You will revive a text message whenever inspectors are spotted on your tram.

Inspector Update is a 'social tool'. It works by members like you, alerting each other.
To participate, when you see ticket inspectors on your line, simply text the following information to this local number: 0450071704

Text:

For Trams: Route Number, Stop Number, Inbound or Outbound
For Trains: Line, Station, Inbound or Outbound
to this local number: 0450071704
Feel free to include as much relevant information in your text message

For example,
1. If you are on Route 57 heading away from the city, passing Stop 25, and ticket inspectors aboard you tram, text the following to 0450071704:
"57, 25, Outbound"

2. If you are on the Lilydale Line heading into the city, passing Glenferrie Station, and ticket inspectors aboard you tram, text the following to 0450071704:
"Lilydale Line, Glenferrie Station, Inbound "
